Die Arbeitsgruppe "Angewandte Statistik" wurde bis Dezember 2018 von Herrn Prof. Dr. Jan Gertheiss geleitet.
Die Arbeitsgruppe beschäftigt sich zum einen mit anwendungsorientierter und -motivierter Methodenentwicklung, insbesondere Regularisierung und Ensemble-Methoden für kategoriale, funktionale und hoch-dimensionale Daten. Zum anderen unterstützen wir Anwender, etwa aus den Wirtschafts-, Ingenieur- und Lebenswissenschaften, bei Fragen zu Statistik und Datenanalyse.
In der Lehre sind wir verantwortlich für die Statistik-Grundausbildung von Studierenden aus den Bereichen Wirtschafts-/Technomathematik, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen und (Wirtschafts-)Informatik. Darüber hinaus bieten wir weiterführende Veranstaltungen für Interessierte aus den unterschiedlichsten Disziplinen an.
